Goals
Integration of a high-quality document scanner with OCR function in the Document Management Assistant area so that users can scan invoices with the LIV app, among other things. The OCR reads information from the scan and can therefore automatically fill in metadata.
Requirements
A high quality scanner so that the OCR can automatically recognize the scanned data. Editing options such as cropping the scan and filter functions are also important. This solution should work locally on the device to ensure maximum security. Implementation needs to happen for Android & iOS.

As a digital life assistant, LIV should also serve as a collection point for the management and organization of all documents and use the information obtained from the documents for more in-depth assistance. The integration of the Docutain Document Scanner SDK ensures that users can expect the highest scanning quality of their scanned documents, which are then available for further management in LIV. Previously, an open source solution was used, but its scanning and output quality was not satisfactory. To improve image quality and thus customer satisfaction, LIV Systems opted for the quick and easy integration of the ready-made Docutain Scanner SDK. The philosophies of Docutain and LIV are aligned when it comes to the fact that data security has top priority, which is why the Docutain SDK functionalities such as scanning and OCR are carried out locally on the device, without any connection to external servers.
