Improved Scanning, Photo Payment SDK documentation, Oboarding and functionality enhancements

With the latest update, we brought along several useful new features. We are excited to show you what makes the latest release of our SDK the smartest, best performing and most intuitive scanning solution available!

Introducing new features

Photo Payment SDK

With Docutain's Photo Payment SDK you enable users to scan or import an invoice and relevant payment information is automatically recognized and extracted. It works 100% offline on the device, ensuring 100% data protection. Benefit from additional features, e.g. an empty result screen, and even better extraction quality compared to custom implementations based on our scanner and data extraction packages. Join banking app providers such as Star Finanz GmbH or 1822direkt and integrate photo payment into your app within minutes.

Onboarding

Help your users to work with your app efficiently! The SDK provides two optional onboarding possibilities that can be shown to the user on first start. Onboard your users with our default content including scan tips and explanations of the functionality or use any custom content you want. You can also reset it to show it again which comes in handy if you want to show some update information.

Scan Tips

Help your users to create the best scan possible! The SDK provides an optional toolbar item within the scanning screen, that will open some tips on how to get the best scan result when you click on it. By default it is activated for photo payment and disabled for document scan and shows some default items. You can customize it according to your needs or disable it completely.

Functionality enhancements

• allowPageDelete
  With this you can optionally disable the "delete toolbaritem" on the editing screen.
  
  
• allowPageAdd
  We added "allowPageAdd" so that you can optionally enable a button on the editing screen the user can use to add additional pages.
  
  
• vibrateOnCapture
  With "vibrateOnCapture" you can provide better feedback when the camera captures an image and support mobile accessibility.
  
  
• CameraImport
  By adding a new camera source "CameraImport", the user will be shown an import button within the scanning screen to scan and import images at the same time.
  
  
• Addition of two new colors
  We added two new colors, which you can find in the Color Configuration section: "ColorOnPrimary" and "ColorTopBarTitle".
  
  
• Android Statusbar & Navigationbar
  We added "statusBarAppearance" and "navigationBarAppearance" to be able to switch between light and dark styles, according to your needs. Applies to Android only.
  
  

Improvements

Besides new features and additions to functionality, we also focus on continuously improving our existing packages. In this context, following improvements on the SDK can be reported:

• Improved scanning screen on Android, using more of the available space for the camera on supported devices.
• Several APIs have been improved to better adapt to the familiar Capacitor ecosystem.
• Added support for Android 15 and add edge-to-edge on all Android versions.
• Layout Fixes on the scanning screen for Android & iOS, e.g. missing or cut buttons.
