Docutain SDK update information

Improved data extraction, Document Scanner UI components and functionality enhancements

In the past few months, several major improvements have been made to our Docutain SDK packages. We will give a general overview of the relevant changes.
This is just a summary of the most important enhancements. Check out the developer documentation release notes of your platform for more detailed information.

Data Capture SDK

As part of the Data Capture SDK, we improved the data extraction to make it more robust and accurate.

Photo Payment SDK

We added SEPACreditor as a new optional field to be detected for Android, iOS and Cordova. This is relevant for use cases involving photo payments, as the recipient of the payment may not be the same as the sender of the document.
There is a dedicated Photo Payment SDK for the functionality to scan bills and extract payment relevant data to be shown in a transfer slip in real-time.

Document Scanner SDK

You can find a lot more possibilities to alter the Document Scanner to your specific needs and branding during integration. Here is an overview of the new features:

UI Components enhancements

Text Configuration
With the TextConfiguration you can alter all 24 default text elements within the UI Components to your specific needs. In case a value is not set explicitly, the default value provided by the SDK will be used. The parameters are optional.

ButtonConfiguration
With the ButtonConfiguration you can adjust all 16 default button elements within the UI Components of the scanner. Each button is presented with a title and an icon. The parameters are optional.

Functionality enhancements

• confirmPages
  When enabled, the user will be presented with a list of all pages (thumbnails) before finishing the scan process, e.g. to make sure all pages are included before submitting.
  
  
• allowPageRetake
  When enabled, the bottom toolbar will show an additional item allowing to rescan the current page.
  
  
• allowPageEditing
  With this it is now possible to disable the editing possibilities all together, so that the process will be finished right after the scanning screen. If it is enabled, the editing screen with the captured image will be displayed. The user can rotate the page, crop manually, filter the page and much more.
  
  
• Android emulator
  We added support for x86 and x86_64 emulators on Android with full functionality. However, we still recommend testing the scan functionality on real devices.
  
  

Get started and upgrade to the latest Docutain SDK version

You can easily upgrade your Docutain SDK package to make sure that the above-mentioned functionalities are available to you. They are available for all platforms we are currently supporting, including Android, iOS, Windows, React Native, .NET MAUI, Xamarin, Flutter, Capacitor and Cordova.
